RACPA (UK)
Rock Against Child Pornography and Abuse.
I can’t express to you how important the work of these fine people is for the little (and not so little) folk of the UK. This is their facebook page. For the ‘bookers amongst you, please go and spend five minutes just taking in what they do. And feel a little safer for doing so. They even have a youtube channel. If you know someone who needs their help, PLEASE. Link them.
They’ve actually “knitted a bus” with their ridiculously epic L’arpies… how AWESOME are these little guys?! Entirely hand made with lots of love and a few Haribo’s for good measure 😉
There’s even a travelling L’arpie doing a tour of the planet. Find out more about Voyager L’arpie here. Their next goal is to knit a safe house. And I can’t wait to help with the yarn bomb when it happens 😉
After much research, this charity is the one I have chosen to support in achieving its goals. I don’t think our kids can ever be protected too much, too strongly, or too vehemently. So you’ll see it come up on my blog and facebook pages from time to time. Please share so that it doesn’t have to be a subject that is kept secret. The more awareness and publicity can be raised on the topic of child abuse, the harder it will be for it to actually happen. And let’s face it, these guys are doing it in style: with music.

If you would like to donate you can access their justgiving page here. Help can come in so many forms, not just financial donations.
So if you can’t spare the cash, offer change: Sharing, Tweeting, Tumbling, Talking. Do it. Let’s make the world a better place.
