Mehhhh!

What can I really say about Mehhhh that he can’t say without words?

Ever had one of those days where there doesn’t seem to be a word for how you feel?  It can be used as a term of indifference, when you simply don’t care.  It can describe hopelessness, boredom, sleepiness, confusion, anger or annoyance.

“Mehhhh” is an original MumblesMummy design, first made in late 2012 for a request for something “hilariously epic” from one of my customers._MG_1462-002

This sort of instruction normally sends me into a spin of creativity, a million ideas coming to the forefront of my mind, fighting for the spotlight of my attention and generally causing me to have zero sleep until at least one of them is made up.

This time was a little different.  Mehhhh “fell out of my head” quietly, subtly, without fuss, drama or fighting.  I was working on a beanie, and something told me to just keep going. A spike appeared, some eyes… some tassels… what would it be? I didn’t know.

Most of the time, if I can see something in my head, I can turn it into a piece of music, a drawing, a painting, a crocheted item or a sculpture.  I’m annoying like that. 😛 IMG_4132

This time was a little different.  It was happening before I had the image in my head.  All I knew was that it would be totally and unexplainably epic.  And check it out: it is!
