Off we go for a lovely adventure. The chill in the air is enough to make your throat tingly when you breathe in. We don’t care. We want a picnic. The brilliant thing about toddlers is that they have no comprehension of weather appropriateness for whatever they want to do. All they care about is that they want to do it. I could say no, that it’s too cold, too far, or that picnics aren’t allowed in winter. But where is the fun in that?? We’re not going far (to a local green space) We have thousands of layers of warm clothes and we have the luxury of hot running water which means bath time when we get home.
Really? Honestly? I’m looking forward to it. I love looking at the world through the eyes of my children. They teach me so much about appreciating what I have, what is around me, the simple things. Pay attention to your little people. And lighten up. Pack a bag of edibles and head off with them to make wonderful winter memories. Now. Go. And don’t come back till your nose is red and you can’t feel your toes.
